Silver nanoparticles, in low concentrations are not harmful to the human body and have a broad spectrum of antimicrobial actions. This article discusses how nanosilver can be employed as an antimicrobial agent in textiles. Nanotechnology can be integrated into the process of manufacturing textiles to make them less susceptible to microbial degradation, particularly in the case of special usage textiles. These fibres can be exposed to microbial contamination, which leads to decline in the quality of the textile. Textiles are flexible materials consisting of a web of fibres.
